AI Google Ads Copywriting: Boost Conversions Like Never Before

0 · by Dennis Moons · Updated on 2 July 2023

Did you know that approximately 2.3 million Google searches are performed each minute? And when searching for anything on Google, you surely notice ads everywhere.

Online ads are the most successful marketing strategy today since they can be cost-effective and can reach many people worldwide. So, if you’re not into the Google ads game, you’re missing out on many potential site visitors.

But for the ads to be successful, creating innovative and easy-to-understand ad copy, also known as brand content, is imperative.

The aim should be to show your potential customers you care about them and introduce your products in a subtle yet effective manner without being unnecessarily pushy.

Since artificial intelligence (AI) has become the most popular technology today, it shouldn’t surprise you that AI Google copywriting is becoming increasingly popular among copywriters and ecommerce business owners.

So, how can you use it to your advantage?

Let’s cover all the basics.

AI Copywriting: Empowering Google Ads Campaigns

Before we dive into AI copywriting, what’s copywriting in the first place?

Copywriting is the unique process of creating catchy phrases that motivate individuals worldwide to get involved with an ad and ideally make an action (purchase a product or service, etc.).

For example, when you’re turning the pages of a magazine, you’ll notice full-page ads that sell apparel or accessories. Well, the phrases on the ads are copywriting. Or, when you’re browsing through a website’s homepage and you notice a catchy phrase – that’s also copywriting.

So what is AI copywriting, then?

AI copywriting uses software for processing natural languages. It combines it with machine learning capacities to generate unique and innovative blogs, emails, social media, ad content, etc.

AI copywriting aims to create catchy phrases that sound as close to humans as possible.

Although Google AI copywriting cannot fully comprehend pain points or human emotions, it can help copywriters create more compelling and exciting phrases.

These new technologies can learn and improve themselves from existing copywriting created by real copywriters.

Therefore, it’s much easier to fully automate some copywriters’ tasks instead of spending hours and hours coming up with inspiration.

Benefits of Using AI Copywriting for Google Ads

FeaturesCopywritingAI Copywriting
Speed Human copywriters are much slower than AI copywriting tools. On average, humans need 2.5 minutes to type 100 random words on their keyboard, but around 20 minutes to write 100 words on a given topic where research is involved. AI tools produce unique content much faster than humans, so they’re an excellent asset for copywriters with many deadlines or large workload. They need about one minute to produce an entire article.
Quality AI copywriters can produce more high-quality content since a human’s writing is more creative and original than AI-powered writing. However, humans can make spelling or grammar mistakes.AI copywriting tools produce high-quality writing since they use natural language processing algorithms without mistakes. However, the writing simply lacks a human touch and often doesn’t resonate with readers as well as human writing.
Cost You can hire a copywriter on Upwork from $19 to $45 per hour on average. You can subscribe to’s Pro version for $36 per month, but using only an AI tool for copywriting is not enough since the writing will be missing a human touch.
Adaptability Human copywriters can adapt their writing style for all kinds of projects, if the end goal is to create top-notch content that aligns with the project requirements.AI copywriting tools can partially adapt to a specific project’s requirements, but never as good as human writers.

AI copywriting has many advantages for creating unique Google Ads, such as cost-effectiveness and availability: you can use the basic versions of most AI tools for free or the premium versions for just a few bucks per month. All you need is internet access, and you’re good to go.

AI copywriting main benefits are:

  • Speed and Scalability

AI copywriting tools are high-speed and scalable, meaning they can handle heavy workloads and finish tasks much faster than humans. AI technology is inevitably faster than human writers since today’s AI copywriting tools can create an entire article in under a few seconds

  • Improved Ad Performance and Efficiency

Today’s AI tools can make complex analyses of word choice, language sentiment, phrase length, reading level, and writing and messaging style before they tailor a unique ad copy for a distinct audience. They also help writers double-check their ad copies before uploading them and evaluate whether they are engaging enough to be used in a new ad campaign.

Exploring AI Copywriting Tools: Jasper vs. Copy

Jasper ( and Copy ( are two of the leading AI tools used by copywriters and content marketers worldwide.

Jasper was launched in early 2021 and is now used by more than 105.000 users, and Copy was established in late 2020 and is used by more than 380.000 active users today.

Both platforms offer many innovative and user-friendly features. Still, there are a few differences between them that you should consider before subscribing to either of them.

Both Jasper and Copy let you choose a template, select AI images of your preference, and create an entire social media, blog, or website post in under a few seconds.

The key difference between these two AI platforms is that Copy is much more affordable than Jasper, given that it offers up to 92% cheaper plans than Jasper. Unfortunately, you cannot use Jasper ai free of charge.

Copy AI and Jasper AI Pricing

Here are the current subscription plans offered by Copy:

  • Free: Up to 2000 words monthly
  • Pro: $36 monthly, unlimited words
  • Enterprise: Pricing and demo version on request

Here are Jasper’s subscription plans:

  • Creator: $39 monthly
  • Teams: $99 monthly
  • Business: Custom pricing on request

Another significant difference between these tools is that Copy doesn’t integrate with other AI tools. That’s something that the platform has yet to offer to its users.

On the other hand, Jasper comes with complete native integration with Grammarly and Surfer SEO. If you want to, you can also integrate it with Zapier, which lets you automate your workflow across more than 5000 app integrations.

Moreover, Jasper supports 26 different languages, while Copy supports 12 languages.

My final verdict is that Jasper is undoubtedly the better choice for copywriters who produce more monthly content. It’s also the perfect choice for individuals who work with content marketing since it has an integrated AI photo generator and an option to integrate other apps to improve your day-to-day workflow.

Conversely, Copy is the best option for copywriters who don’t need a multifaceted tool since they don’t produce much content. It might offer a simpler workflow, but there’s an option to use Copy ai free of charge. It offers a free pricing plan that lets you use the tool for up to 2000 words per month and choose from over 90 templates.

If you’re on a budget and don’t need an AI tool with additional features, such as an AI-image generator, Copy will be enough.

AI Copywriting Advantages

Here are the main strengths and advantages of AI-powered copywriting:

  • Create various text forms quickly

AI tools can create multiple text forms in just a few seconds, such as blogs, emails, articles, call-to-action, event copy, etc. As a plus, you can make long, informative blog posts, which is a great advantage for those who need to generate a lot of content daily.

  • Save a lot of time

AI tools are automated and extremely fast as they can create new content in under a few seconds. You don’t need to spend hours creating a new ad copy from scratch, but use your AI tool to produce it for you – or at least use the AI-powered content to brainstorm new ideas and improve your existing text.

  • Create accurate and consistent ad copy

AI algorithms can create content without spelling or grammar errors in your chosen style. When you use them, you can be sure that your ad copy will be free of common writing errors.

AI Copywriting Limitations

Although AI tools are highly sophisticated assets for copywriters, they’re not without any limitations. Here are a few main disadvantages that you need to consider before using an AI tool for copywriting:

  • Lack of quality

Although these tools are sophisticated, they’re not perfect. Often, AI-produced content can lack depth and originality that you can only notice in human-created copywriting. That’s why it’s always better to use them to improve your initial ideas and modify or use parts of their content.

  • Unoriginal and unimaginative

Similar to the first limitation, ad copy created by an AI tool will lack the originality and creativity that only humans can produce. The content created by an AI tool is often not 100% original and cannot capture a human copywriter’s specific, creative writing style.

  • Extra expenses

If you subscribe to a premium account, you must pay the monthly subscription amount, which is an additional monthly cost.

Best Practices for AI Copywriting in Google Ads

Using AI for copywriting might seem challenging at first, but it’s not complicated at all. All you have to do is follow a few simple tips and tricks to get the best out of the AI tool of your choice.

Read on to find out how to understand your audience, test and optimize your copywriting, and use AI as a collaborative tool.

  1. Understand Your Target Audience

You can’t effectively use AI tools without knowing who your customers are and what they want.

If this is something you’ve yet to do, start by conducting market research, surveys, focus groups, and user interviews. These methods will help you understand the essential characteristics of your audience, as well as their pain points, interests, and needs.

Once you have this valuable information, you can discard irrelevant ad copy, such as phrases that wouldn’t resonate well with your target audience.

  1. Continuously Test and Optimize

If you’re looking for an effective way to evaluate and optimize your copywriting success, try the A/B testing method. A/B tests help content marketers and copywriters find out how their target audiences respond to two versions of their ads so they can find the one that more efficiently increases conversion rates and sales and gets more engagement.

You can set up this type of test by gathering several test participants (you can choose the number of people depending on your budget) and show 50% of the participants one ad copy and show the other 50% another ad copy that you created with the help of an AI tool.

Then you can ask them what they think about the ads, why they would or wouldn’t click on them, and whether they would make a purchase.

When it comes to creating different ad copies for your A/B testing, you can use completely different images, headlines, colors, and phrases to determine which one catches the attention of the study participants more.

  1. Use AI as a Collaborative Tool

Did you know that you can use AI as a collaborative tool?

For example, Jasper streamlines the entire copywriting process and lets you share your content with your co-workers in real time.

All the users who have access to the project can leave comments and suggestions, which enables you to stay on track and get input on your work in progress quickly.

Jasper also has a specific folder system where you can categorize all your files and a vast template library to select your preferred template out of 60 designs.

Like Jasper, Copy has a straightforward and easy-to-use design interface. You can also communicate and collaborate with everyone who has access to the file in real-time, edit, adjust, and improve your files, and share feedback with your teammates.

Using AI tools for copywriting might sound complicated if you don’t know anything about AI tools, but as you can see for yourself, once you learn all the basics about these tools, it’s a piece of cake.

With the help of AI technology, you don’t need to spend hours brainstorming and thinking of new exciting and catchy phrases and ad copy. You can create a brand-new blog and website articles daily and get content without grammatical errors.

After all, AI tools are meticulously designed to create phrases and ad copies without overusing specific words, adjectives, or adverbs, and their grammar is nothing less than perfect.
